Parnakh (1891-1951) was a poet, translator, essayist, dancer, choreographer and musician who created the first jazz band in Russia, is famous for his work with Meierkhol’d, but died in the USSR in obscurity. His books of poetry, illustrated by Goncharova, Larionov and Picasso, were published in Paris 1919-21. Their texts are reprinted here in facsimile and with the original illustrations. Edited and introduced by Vadim Perel’muter. This copy is inscribed to the Russian writer Nikolai Bokov.
